Embryologist of the Month of October 2015

American College of Embryology recognizes excellence in the practice of Embryology of the following practitioner

 

  Dr. Fang Li, PhD

 Dr. Fang Li received her medical degree from China and earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Old Dominion University at Norfolk, VA, USA. She obtained post-doctoral training at New York Medical College. She did her Ph.D. thesis in the research group of Dr. Howard Jones, whose work led to the first IVF baby in USA.

Dr. Li has been working in the field of reproductive medicine for 10 years and currently works in IVF Michigan, one of the leading fertility clinics in the world. She is a well-respected scientist with many publications in top journals, e.g. Science Translational Medicine, Human Reproduction and others. Dr. Li is also a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, such as Human Reproduction, Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility.

Her particular interest areas include ovarian cryopreservation, protecting ovary from chemotherapy, time-lapse morphokinetic analysis of embryo, mitochondria and oocyte aging. Dr. Li has been making presentations at the annual meetings of American Society for Reproductive Medicine every year since 2010. She was the recipient of in-training award from American Society for Reproductive Medicine's at its annual meeting.
