
Sasikala Natarajamani MBBS, MMedSci, EMB
Dr. Sasikala Natarajamani is a medical practitioner and embryologist certified by the American College of Embryology as a Grade IV - Reproductive Embryologist (EMB). She was the first person from India to receive this certification. Currently, she heads Crea Conceptions, a unique embryology services organization in Tamilnadu, India, as the Founder & Scientific Director.
After graduating from the University of Madras, Dr. Sasikala underwent special training in obstetrics and gynecology, during which she developed an interest in Assisted Reproduction. This interest led her to the MMedSci in ART program in Nottingham, where she was trained by eminent professors like Dr. Bruce Campbell. Following her post-graduation, due to her interest in ovarian physiology, she briefly worked on 3D ovarian follicular culture at Northwestern University under the guidance of Dr. Teresa Woodruff. She is a member of multiple professional bodies and is also a registered medical practitioner. Her unique combination of medicine and ART knowledge, with an understanding of reproduction at both the gross and cellular level, gives her an edge in comprehending the problems that infertile couples face.
After a brief stint as an embryologist in Midwest Fertility Centre in Illinois, Dr. Sasikala returned to her home country to establish some of the leading IVF units and also set up the first post-graduate diploma program in the country. She also underwent further training in lasers and vitrification from Germany.
She played an instrumental role in developing various academic programs in India and currently runs a university-based one-year Post Graduate Diploma Program in Clinical Embryology. She serves as a lecturer and external examiner in various academic programs in clinical embryology in India. Additionally, she consults and offers embryology services to several IVF units and other independent IVF practitioners through her organization - Crea Conceptions.
With an active interest in research, Dr. Sasikala has published many articles on the subject and is a peer reviewer for leading journals like the Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, the Middle East Fertility Journal, Fertility Research and Practice, among others.
Ethical ART practice, Improved ART outcomes with minimal add-ons, minimal stimulation IVF, Precision IVF, and establishing multiple teaching programs in embryology to develop ethical, skilled, and able future embryologists are subjects that are close to her heart.
