Dr. Iryna Kuznyetsova of The Toronto Institute for Reproductive Medicine

 

Dr. Iryna Kuznyetsova earned her B.Sc. in Biology, and later her M.S. in Genetics at Kiev State University, Ukraine. She then went on to earn her Ph. D. in Biology and Genetics at the Institute of Animal Breeding and Genetics in Kiev. She worked as Senior Scientist at the Institute of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Ukraine where she conducted research in the field of in vitro maturation, in vitro fertilization, and parthenogenetic activation of animal oocytes. Iryna spent 7 years as a Senior Embryologist at the Reproductive Genetics Institute in Chicago, Illinois. While at Reproductive Genetics she performed all IVF aspects of human assisted reproductive technology including: handling of surgically retrieved spermatozoa, biopsy and fixation of polar bodies, blastomeres and trophectoderm cells for PGD/PGS cases and their FISH analysis, and oocyte in vitro maturation. Iryna Kuznyetsova is board certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director in Embryology and Andrology and a certified ART Laboratory Director by Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society. She is currently the Director of IVF Laboratory at ReproMed, Toronto and her primary clinical interest is in optimizing laboratory conditions, ICSI process, and oocyte and embryo vitrification techniques to increase confidence and utilization of elective single embryo transfer. Dr. Kuznyetsova has an extensive background in cell and reproductive biology and advanced experience in all aspects of human assisted reproductive technology. She has published 14 scientific papers and review articles in scientific journals, authored 2 book chapters, and has presented 16 abstracts at both national and international scientific meetings.
