Dr. Bhushan K. (BK) Gangrade, PhD

Dr. Bhushan K. (BK) Gangrade received PhD from Banaras Hindu University, India in 1984. In 1986, he joined the Department of Physiology, University of Kansas Medical Center as a Rockefeller Foundation Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. He then moved to the Women’s Research Institute in Wichita, Kansas to continue his research on the role of growth factors in ovarian function and was promoted to the position of Research Assistant professor in 1991. During his tenure at the Women’s Research Institute Dr. Gangrade became interested in the field of assisted reproduction and received initial training in the field of human embryology and infertility at the Center for Reproductive Medicine, Wichita . He accepted a position as the Laboratory Director at the Center for Infertility and Reproductive Medicine in Orlando, Florida in 1993. Dr. Gangrade at the Center for Infertility and Reproductive Medicine in Orlando is credited for the birth of first ICSI and first PGD baby in Central Florida. Dr. Gangrade is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB) and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and has authored or co-authored more than 25 publications in the field of mammalian reproduction.
